P&O Cruises Australia has cancelled its Auckland 2022 season amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The company has axed 21 cruises that were scheduled to depart Auckland from July through to November.
Guests whose bookings are affected by the cancellation will be notified with the options available either directly via P&O Cruises or their travel agent.
P&O Cruises says it has had "useful discussions" with the New Zealand Government, however the ongoing pandemic and restrictions related to it means there is uncertainty around when cruising is likely to resume from Aotearoa.
P&O Cruises says it is looking forward to returning to New Zealand next year for an Auckland cruise season beginning in June 2023. It also remains hopeful of being able to cruise to New Zealand from Australia later this year.
The company says it acknowledges the disappointment of guests whose cruises have been cancelled and apologises for the disruption to their holiday plans.
