Following Tourism New Zealand's 'If You Seek' campaign, an Australian tourism agency is encouraging Kiwis to 'Seek Different' with their next getaway.
The Northern Territory (NT) is seeking tourists from Aotearoa who will be offered a chance to quench their wanderlust with a holiday that is "different in every way", according to the state.
'Seek Different' is Tourism NT's first international marketing campaign in New Zealand since the end of COVID-19 travel restrictions.
It hopes to champion NT as "Australia's premiere destination for Aboriginal art and a gateway to experiencing the oldest continuous living cultures on Earth".
The campaign slogan is: "If you seek different, this is the holiday for you."
A 30-second video showcases various outdoor activities offered in the state like camel rides, hiking, scenic helicopter flights, BMX riding and animal encounters.
"We have missed our Trans-Tasman neighbours and are very excited to welcome them back for some incredible new experiences that have launched since the borders closed, as well as some famous and iconic places like Uluru and Kakadu National Park," said Tourism NT's Executive Director of Marketing, Tony Quarmby.
"A trip to the NT is anything but normal and we know that, for many New Zealand travel intenders, "different" and out-of-the-box holiday experiences are hugely appealing - perhaps more so than ever following years of travel restrictions and lockdowns.
"The NT is a remarkable destination that is unique and expansive at every turn - from its local and Asian influences to history, arts and nature to its wildlife, food, characters and multi-national communities. The Territory's Red Centre and Top End are unlike anywhere else in the world."
"A flight from New Zealand to the Northern Territory can be done by lunchtime - and yet, when you arrive, it feels worlds away."
The campaign has launched today across television and online platforms.
