AM reporter Emma Olsen is part of a New Zealand team undertaking a global contest that sees competitors travel across Europe in seven days - the catch? Using only drink cans as currency.
In the Red Bull 'Can You Make It' event, team members must exchange Red Bull cans for everything - food, a place to sleep, transportation and anything else they might need to get to the finish line in Berlin, Germany.
Olsen is part of Aotearoa's wildcard team along with YouTuber Liam Thompson and content creator Karvey. The three of them appeared on AM on Friday before they depart Auckland on the weekend.
"So, we go to Milan in Italy and that's where we do all of our pre pregame stuff, test everything, get our backpacks ready - then we're off," Karvey said.
"There's checkpoints that we have to go to and check in every day.
"Yeah, it's terrifying."
