A 15-year-old boy has proven to be one of the more popular US presidential candidates by posing under the internet meme name of "Deez Nuts", it has been revealed.
Deez Nuts won 9 percent of the vote as an independent candidate in the Public Policy Polling poll in the state of North Carolina, The Guardian reports.
Nuts pulled in 8 percent and 7 percent of polled votes in Minnesota and Iowa respectively.
"My name is not Deez Nuts," Brady Olson from Iowa told The Guardian. "I am a 15-year-old who filled out a form [and] had the campaign catch on fire."
He said his family and friends "think it's hilarious".
While Nuts cannot win because US rules say you must be at least 35 before you can become president, he does say he thinks he is a better option than the current candidates.
