Chief's assistant coach Andrew Strawbridge is continuing to improve but remains in a serious but stable condition.
Friends and family are elated at signs of improvement and continue to request privacy, the club said in a statement this morning.
Strawbridge, also the Manu Samoa technical advisor is communicating with family and staff in Waikato Hospital's intensive care unit and has requested a number of text messages be sent to loved ones.
Strawbridge fell ill on his flight to Samoa to join Manu Samoa ahead of their Test against the All Blacks last week.
He was later admitted to Moto'otua National Hospital with an infection in his right eye and his condition deteriorated rapidly.
A Givealittle page set up to provide medical equipment for the hospital's intensive care unit has so far raised more than $21,000.
