Between US rapper Kendrick Lamar performing and Fourth of July celebrations, President Barack Obama managed to sneak in a rendition of 'Happy Birthday' for 18-year-old daughter Malia.
Along with Kendrick Lamar, US artist Janelle Monáe also performed, while President Obama paid tribute to Independence Day and military members at The White House event.
He thanked the "incredible men and women in uniform and their families who look out for us every single day."
The President then continued, saying "just because it's a job of a father to embarrass his daughters, I've got one last job", before serenading guests for his daughter's birthday, which is on the same day.
She joined her dad on stage at the end for a hug.
