A family has been winched to safety from the cabin of a heavy-duty truck teetering on the edge of a cliff in China.
The family of four were stuck in the cabin, which jutted out over a sheer 40-metre drop.
Extricating the family required some impressive problem-solving from authorities.
A rescuer was harnessed up to the arm of a crane. From there, he was maneuvered across the huge drop to the cabin.
One by one, the two children and their parents were lifted to safety.
Night had fallen by the time the family was rescued, making the operation all the more perilous.
The incident took place in Chonqing, a large city in Southwest China. Much of the roading network is narrow, mountainous and winding.
