A young woman has had an incredible escape from a raging mud slide in Peru.
The worst rain in decades is wreaking havoc on the country leaving thousands homeless and at least a dozen people dead.
Caked in mud, the woman could barely be made out as she struggled for life in the middle of a whirlpool of sludge and debris.
Just metres from being swept away, she desperately clung to trees and broken pallets for survival.
However she was caught by her hair and unable to escape.
Finally, she managed to claw her way to safety.
Bystanders came to her aid, and the 32-year-old was taken to hospital.
Others haven't been so lucky, and with rain forecast for the next two weeks the death toll is expected to rise.
