A US man has been slammed on the internet after claiming to have killed the world's largest frog.
The frog was chilling in its Texas pond when Markcuz Rangel crept up and assassinated it.
A picture of his victim was then shared to Facebook, showing Mr Rangel holding his prey up with a gun in his hand. He said it was caught in a pond on a ranch and weighed 13 pounds (5.89kg).
The photo has sparked anger between hunters and wildlife advocates.
"Very sad day for that bullfrog that I'm sure was minding his own business," one person said, along with crying face emojis.
Others responded with their favourite recipes for frog legs.
There has been confirmation by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department that the frog is real - but smaller than first thought.
"It's not as bigly as it appears," spokesperson Steve Lightfoot told Chron.com.
"[It's an] optical illusion created by extending frog toward the camera - similar to what you see with fishermen holding up fish to make them appear larger. Still a big bullfrog, though."
