A rat in a restaurant will usually earn its owner an F for health and safety, but as it's been a few hundred years since the Black Plague, a 'Rat Cafe' is opening in San Francisco.
The Black Rat Cafe will pop up for two days, allowing visitors to have a coffee while the rodents scurry around.
The disturbing description of the event on Facebook says it will be an "immersive experience".
"Rat-uccino, anyone? How about a rat-te? The San Francisco Dungeon is launching the Black Rat Cafe," the Facebook event says.
"Be forewarned: the fare at this pop-up experience is neither locally grown nor sustainably sourced. Guests can sip their coffee while seated at bistro-style tables, nicely draped with red and white gingham tablecloths... all while being surrounded by rats."
The experience will cost rat-fans US$50, and includes a pastry and a coffee.
The rats are up for adoption through a local organisation Rattie Ratz.
