Two US senators have been caught on tape questioning President Donald Trump's capabilities as commander-in-chief of the United States.
According to media reports, the Washington Post released audio of a conversation between Republican Susan Collins and Democrat Jack Reed following a Senate subcommittee meeting on Tuesday.
It seems the pair didn't turn their microphones off, which caught their brief exchange where Mr Reed labelled Mr Trump "crazy."
Ms Collins replied saying that she was "worried" about his leadership abilities, lack of experience in a governing position and handle over the US budget.
"If we don't get a budget deal, we're going to be paralysed, [the Department of Defence] is going to be paralysed, everybody is going to be paralysed," Mr Reed added.
To which Ms Collins agreed.
"I don't think he [referring to Donald Trump] knows there is a [Budget Control Act, which controls the budget process] or anything."
Mr Reed went on to say there was a lot of confusion between what was happening.
"You've got [Budget Director Mick] Mulvaney saying we're going to put in all sorts of stuff like a border wall," he says.
"Then you've got [Treasury Secretary Steve] Mnuchin saying it's got to be clean.
"We're going to be back in September, and, you know, you're going to have crazy people in the House."
Both senators may want to be careful about what they say about the "Don" who hasn't had any problems getting rid of senior figures in the American political set-up.
Earlier this year he fired FBI director James Comey and is now reportedly trying to oust current US Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
