Seattle police have made fun of high-profile conspiracy theorist Alex Jones after he went on an expletive-filled rant on the city's streets.
Mr Jones, who hosts Infowars, recorded a video of himself berating passersby, calling them "cowards" and complaining about the mainstream media.
A few minutes into the clip, a pedestrian takes exception to Mr Jones' rants, and douses him in coffee.
After Mr Jones posted the video on Twitter, a reporter for Buzzfeed News asked the Seattle Police Dept if Mr Jones' behaviour was under investigation.
"We haven't received any official reports," the department replied. "As far as we know that could be an actor playing Alex Jones."
Mr Jones has in the past falsely claimed the 2012 Sandy Hook massacre, in which 20 children were fatally shot, was staged. He said no one died, and the bodies were all played by actors.
The man who threw the coffee in Mr Jones' face has since been outed as Jake Stratton, a local actor, wrestler and heavy metal singer. That's led to claims the incident was staged to give Mr Jones a chance to rant about "alt-left goblins", as Mr Stratton was called on the Infowars website.
But people who know Mr Stratton don't think the incident was staged.
"Not staged - that was Jake Stratton, longtime Seattle heavy-metal singer, pencil-fighting league champ and all-around wonderful weirdo," tweeted Jonathan Zwickel, editor of Seattle-based City Arts magazine.
