Prince Harry was greeted with a hongi on Saturday by none other than Kiwi war hero Willie Apiata.
Apiata, Victoria Cross recipient, faced the young prince with the traditional Māori greeting at the Invictus Games in Canada.
The New Zealand Defence Force tweeted an image of the pair on Saturday, which has been retweeted 132 times and gained more than 370 likes.
Apiata was also photographed performing a haka for New Zealand's first medal winner.
The international Paralympic-style Invictus Games encourage injured, sick or wounded armed services personnel and veterans to participate in the multi-sports events - some of which include wheelchair basketball, indoor rowing and sitting volleyball.
The Games were founded by the young prince in 2014.
