US President Donald Trump told a porn star he was having an affair with that she was "just like his daughter", according to a new report.
Stormy Daniels was reportedly paid US$130,000 last year to stay quiet about the affair, which took place in 2006 only months after the future Melania Trump, the future First Lady, gave birth to their son Barron.
But in 2011 Ms Daniels, the star of Sex Door Neighbours and Space Nuts, gave an interview to celebrity gossip magazine In Touch Weekly, which published its contents for the first time on Thursday (NZ time).
Ms Daniels said she met the President at a celebrity golf tournament in July 2006. He asked her out to dinner, but when she arrived at his place, found him sprawled on the couch in his pyjamas.
They had dinner in front of the TV, and when he put the moves on her, she thought, "Ugh, here we go."
The sex was "nothing crazy" and "textbook generic" Ms Daniels - whose real name is Stephanie Clifford - told In Touch Weekly.
"It was one position, what you would expect someone his age to do."
After the forgettable night, Ms Daniels says Mr Trump kept calling her, telling her she was "someone to be reckoned with, beautiful and smart just like his daughter", Ivanka.
He even offered his "honeybunch" a place on his TV show The Apprentice.
Mr Trump's lawyer has denied the President had any such affair with Ms Daniels, calling it a "false narrative". In Touch Weekly verified the claims with two other sources, and had Ms Daniels take a lie detector test, which she passed.
Other news organisations including Slate and The Daily Beast say they spoke to witnesses before the election corroborating the story, but didn't publish the allegations after Daniels refused to speak - having signed the non-disclosure agreement.
The allegations resurfaced last week after the Wall Street Journal revealed Mr Trump's lawyer had paid her $130,000 only days before the 2016 presidential election.
Mr Trump denied inappropriate sexual behaviour alleged by multiple women during the election campaign. The alleged encounter between Ms Daniels and Mr Trump appears to have been consensual, but took place about 18 months after he married Melania.
Only months before the alleged affair, Mr Trump appeared on a TV talk show and joked that if "Ivanka weren't my daughter, perhaps I'd be dating her".
A highly critical dossier collated by former spy Christopher Steele about Mr Trump's alleged ties to Russia, leaked in January 2017, claimed Mr Trump hired prostitutes to urinate on a hotel bed in Moscow.
