One Twitter user busted open her washing machine and the myth that machines "eat" socks.
Cathy Hinz from California posted a photo of dozens of pairs of socks hidden in a washing machine compartment.
Ms Hinz's husband decided to take apart the machine when it wasn't working properly.
He removed the bottom panel and discovered dozens of misplaced items trapped inside.
Socks, underwear and even a credit card were found among the stash.
"Twenty-five years he has been doing this job, and for 25 years he has been working on appliances, including washers and dryers. But NEVER have we seen this!" she wrote.
The post has since gone viral on Twitter.
