A curious marsupial has been caught trying his hand at a favourite human pastime.
Footage from Australia has emerged of a koala holding a fishing rod on the banks of the iconic Murray River.
The bizarre event occurred near the town of Strathmerton, about a three-hour drive north of Melbourne.
The footage was captured by Lorraine Downs as her family was enjoying a picnic in the midst of a day of fishing, 9 News reported.
In the video a woman, presumably Ms Downs, asks the koala if it has caught anything.
"Just another day in Australia," she adds.
Ms Downs said the koala stuck around the family about an hour.
