In an exclusive interview with British journalist and TV presenter Piers Morgan, Mr Trump confirmed he would run again in 2020 and spoke candidly about his conversation with the Queen.
"She's [the Queen] a fantastic woman; so much energy and smart and sharp. She was amazing. Such a wonderful lady and so beautiful," Mr Trump said in the Mail on Sunday interview.
"It was such an honour to finally meet her. To have a Queen like that is great."
Asked what the Queen thought of Brexit, Mr Trump reportedly clammed up, but did say she thought it was a "very complex problem".
"I think nobody had any idea how complex that was going to be... Everyone thought it was going to be 'Oh it's simple, we join or don't join, or let's see what happens...'"
Mr Trump raised eyebrows with his brash approach to meeting the Queen, where he broke protocol twice by failing to bow and walking in front of he 92-year-old monarch.
But there's no doubt he's a big fan of her, saying his mother, a "tremendous fan of the Queen", would have been proud seeing him with the Queen at Windsor Castle.
When asked about North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, Trump said: "I get along with him great, yeah. He's very smart, great personality, he's funny and tough, good negotiator."
Pressed on whether Kim was 'a ruthless dictator', Trump said: "Sure he is, he's ruthless, but so are others."
2020 election
Mr Trump confirmed to Mr Morgan his intention to run in the 2020 election, saying everyone wants him to enter the race again and he can't see any Democrat who can beat him.
"They [the Democrats] do not have the right candidate."
Mr Trump now heads to Finland where he will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin.
