An Australian man has been charged with murder following a 27-hour stand-off with police after the discovery of a teenage girl's decomposing body in a barrel.
Zlatko Sikorsky, 34, has been charged with the murder of 16-year-old Larissa Beilby after he surrendered to police peacefully after spending just over 24 hours held up in the Alexandra Headland apartments on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.

A body was found in a barrel on the back of a ute in a caravan park outside Brisbane on Wednesday. On Sunday (local time) police confirmed that the body was Larissa.
According to police, Sikorsky was in a relationship with Larissa. She was last seen alive on June 15.
Detective Inspector Damien Hansen told ABC Australia he would not comment on the possible motive for her death.
Sikorsky has been charged with murder and misconduct with a corpse.
