A tropical snake has been filmed in broad daylight devouring a pigeon on a London street.
The escaped boa constrictor was spotted crushing and swallowing the bird on the weekend, while shocked witnesses watched on.
Dave Fawbert told the BBC the snake was "100 percent eating the pigeon, it had its jaw open wrapped around it and the head was half-way in already".
Rachel Garland, who filmed a video of the snake, said: "It was really cool, you never see anything like that.
"I wasn't scared because it was moving so slowly and it was completely wrapped up in its pigeon. It was just trying to eat the pigeon, it wasn't taking any notice of all the people.
"This guy then picked it up by its tail as it was wrapped around the pigeon and put it in a cardboard box."
The RSPCA has removed the snake and warned people to be more responsible with their exotic pets.
"Anything might have happened to him, he could have been run over by a car or attacked by another animal," RSPCA inspector Rebecca Bedson told the BBC.
