A group of employees at Facebook have united to confront what they believe is a culture of intolerance and "left-leaning ideology".
The social media company's internal message board received a post last week titled "We Have a Problem With Political Diversity", which quickly picked up traction among employees and was obtained by The New York Times.
"We are a political monoculture that's intolerant of different views," the post says, describing the social network's alleged liberal-leaning internal culture.
"We claim to welcome all perspectives, but are quick to attack - often in mobs - anyone who presents a view that appears to be in opposition of left-leaning ideology."

The post, written by Facebook engineer Brian Amerige, has been supported by over 100 staff members, CNBC reports. They have formed an online group called "FB'ers for Political Diversity" within the company.
While other Facebook employees have slammed the group, the group hasn't broken any company rules, a Facebook employee was told by a manager after making a complaint.
Search engine Google has faced similar backlash after firing an employee last year for posting a company memo calling for more diversity of views. The employee, James Damore, alleged that politically conservative employees are discriminated against.
But he also argued that the gender gaps at Google are the result of biological differences between men and women, which outraged many employees and led to his sacking.
Facebook's Mr Amerige wants his colleagues to debate political ideas in the new group, which is one of tens of thousands of internal groups that cover a range of topics, according to CNBC. He said Facebook is "entrusted by a great part of the world to be impartial".
It comes after US President Donald Trump launched an attack on tech companies this week, claiming Google is rigging search results to make him look bad. In a flurry of Tuesday tweets, he claimed 96 percent of results are from left wing media and questions the legality of it.
"Social Media Giants are silencing millions of people," the President said.
Google has yet to comment on Mr Trump's allegations. The search engine decides the order of articles that appear in a search through the use of an algorithm that only Google itself knows.
