Female inmates of Greenough Regional Prison were given the emergency contraception pill following a riot by male prisoners, it's been revealed.
Ten male prisoners broke through into the women's section of the prison using angle grinders and other tools in July, rioting for 12 hours.

Following the event, women were offered emergency contraception pills - even though none of them admitted to being sexually assaulted.
Despite requests from The Daily Mail for information on where the sexual assaults happened, Western Australia Prison Officers Union acting secretary Paul Ledingham refused to give an answer.
A female prisoner contacted 7 News during the riot from the office and said some of the girls were scared because of the "aggro" men running around.
The July riot caused the prison millions of dollars of damage, and all 10 male prisoners involved managed to escape. All were later captured and now face more charges, adding to the ones they were already incarcerated for.
Overcrowding was blamed for the riot, with Greenough Regional Prison found to have 323 prisoners there in January, despite it being designed to hold just 223.
It was said to be the largest prison riot recorded in Western Australia's history.
