NASA has released a report that says nobody, not even Elon Musk, can make Mars habitable for humans.

University of Auckland astrobiologist Kathy Campbell told The AM Show even if there was life on Mars, we couldn't get to it.
"There's a lake, there's water, but it's underneath about a kilometre and a half of ice, we can't get to it. We can't get to that subterranean level yet."
She says scientists may be able to find out if there was ever life that evolved on Mars, but that's still looking backwards.
"Terraforming, turning a entire planet into something like earth, is a huge pipe dream. There's just not enough carbon dioxide to warm it up."
However, Dr Campbell says she hasn't given up hope that there is another habitable planet out there.
"There must be another earth. There are so many planets out there, so many stars. But the universe is expanding, so we might just never be able to find them."
She says despite the inhospitable state of Mars, there is one alternate back-up plan.
"Plan B is to actually save earth, and that's up to us."
