Earlier-than-usual fermenting of berries in Gilbert, Minnesota have led to the local bird population enjoying itself a little too much.
"The Gilbert Police Department has received several reports of birds that appear to be 'under the influence' flying into windows, cars and acting confused," police chief Ty Techar wrote in a statement to the Washington Post.
An early frost has meant berries are fermenting earlier than usual, and many birds have not yet migrated south for the winter months, resulting in more drunken incidents than usual.
Residents of the small town of 1800 have reported a number of incidents of birds flying into windshields but Mr Techar has reassured residents it won't last.
"There is no need to call law enforcement about these birds as they should sober up within a short period of time."
