As per Indian tradition, priests performed Gujjar's last rites by shaving the families' heads and preparing for a customary bath.
News sources revealed that, when family members began to pour water on Gujjar, the 'dead man' stunningly woke up and gained consciousness.
"He started breathing and sat on the bed soon after. When questioned by relatives, he said he had chest pains and took a nap," eldest son Balu Ram told Times of India.
The family has hailed the incident as a "miracle".
