A 6.9-magnitude earthquake has struck Mindanao Island, in the southern Philippines.
It was originally said to have a magnitude of 7.2, but it has since been downgraded.
The NWS Pacific Tsunami Warning System had issued a tsunami threat for Philippines and Indonesia coastlines within 300km of the earthquake.
The warning has since been cancelled.
The expected the waves to be less than 30cm in height.
Hawaii is not under threat, it has been confirmed.
There have been no immediate reports of damage or casualties, according to the US Geological Survey.
The quake struck 193km to the east of General Santos, the city closest to its epicentre, at a depth of of 59.8km.
