After meeting her partner through rugby league, it was only fitting that expat June Marshall and her partner Jonah Avia would get engaged through the sport.
But she never could have expected how the he would choose to propose - or the help he would receive.
Video was posted to Facebook from Sunday, showing the powerful moment Mr Avia gathered his Perth youth league team together and dropped to one knee while they delivered a ferocious haka.
Ms Marshall struggled to hold back tears as she realised what was about to happen.
Ms Marshall told Newshub the moment was unexpected and overwhelming.
"I really can't describe it, just seeing all the boys doing the haka - even my little brother - and seeing them support my partner," she says.
"It was really overwhelming - but really the best feeling I've ever had, to be honest."
The couple, who have been together for two-and-a-half years, have been inundated with congratulations from friends and family who have seen the video.
"Beautiful proposal my cousin geez need a whole box of tissues! Blessings & prosperity for yall future!" one person commented.
