The parents of a toddler left alone at a Florida park have been charged with child neglect but claim they didn't initially realise she was missing.
On Friday evening (local time), an hour after her parents left, a two-year-old child was found wandering around Haverhill Park at West Palm Beach in a golden tutu.
Despite sharing the child's photo on social media and asking the community for help, authorities didn't hear from Jolander and Makenson Alexandre until the next morning when they reported their daughter missing.
Both parents told officials they believed the child was at home with them, reports The New York Post.
Police reports suggest the mother was extremely emotional.
The local Department of Children and Families later removed seven other children from their home, while the couple was arrested on child neglect charges.
