An American mother is facing jail after her young son nearly drowned in a spa while she sat nearby drunk and high.
Apryl Connolly and her twin three-year-old sons were at Perry's Ocean Edge Resort in Florida in late March when one of the boys slipped underwater for nearly two minutes.

Hotel security footage shows the child falling into the spa and failing to resurface, without catching the attention of the mother, who was sitting nearby.
Luckily, a hotel employee watching the security camera raised the alarm, and a maintenance worker was alerted.
He jumped into the water, grabbed the boy, and began CPR.
The three-year-old remains in a serious condition in hospital, while Connolly has been charged with child neglect and destruction of evidence.
She admitted to drinking alcohol and consuming marijuana, oxycodone, and suboxone prior to the incident.
Connolly has been remanded in custody.
