A UK paedophile has avoided jail time after he was caught with indecent images of children for a second time.
Darren Brazier, 36, was found with more than a million images of child abuse after police searched his home in November 2017, Metro.co.uk reports.
- 'Difficult' to measure New Zealand's child pornography problem - Customs
- New Zealand man Troy Skinner charged with kidnapping and child pornography
- Auckland businessman Martin Henry Lawes jailed for four years for sexually exploiting children
It was the not the first time Brazier had been arrested over child pornography. He received a suspended sentence in 2010 after he was found with more than 100,000 indecent images.
Five months after he was sentenced for that offence, he was back downloading child porn again.
Officers visiting his home in 2017 found he had been looking for child abuse photos and videos, searching terms including "preteen" and "daddy daughter".
Laptops, tablets, a mobile and computer tower seized from the house were found to contain more than a million indecent images.
He faced Swindon Crown Court Judge Jason Taylor QC, who said at Brazier's sentencing earlier this week the offender seemed "genuinely remorseful" and had been seeing a counsellor since his 2017 arrest.
"You have taken steps to address your offending behaviour. I have seen a letter from your therapist which encourages me.
"I am encouraged that the last download was in June 2017 - that was several months before your arrest in November 2017."
Brazier received a 22-month jail term suspended for two years, which means he will only be sent to prison if he violates the terms of his sentence.
He will have to complete a sexual offenders programme and has been registered as a sex offender.
