Twin babies have died after their father left them in the car while he went to work during a hot New York summer day.
The father unknowingly left the year-old children in his car in the Bronx on Friday (local time) and only discovered they were still there when he returned to the vehicle eight hours later.

He noticed the children were in the back seat while driving and quickly pulled over, screaming for help. First responders found the children were foaming at the mouth, reports NBC.
An investigation is now underway to find the exact cause of death, but temperatures in the area were reaching 30C and it's believed heat was involved.
"This is a horrific situation. It is early in the investigative process; we will release more information as it becomes available," a New York Police Department spokesperson said, reports ABC.
The man was taken into custody but no charges have been laid yet.
