Mt Everest is set to go green, with Nepal banning single-use plastics on and around the famous peak.
The ban will stop hikers bringing the products in and stop shops from selling them in a bid to cut down on waste.
The rules come into force from January, but plastic water bottles will initially be exempt.
"We are consulting with all sides about what can be done about plastic water bottles," an official told CNN. "We will soon find a solution for that."
