Bystanders at a train station in New York have rescued a five-year-old girl after her father jumped onto the tracks with her in his arms.
Video shows members of the public pulling the girl out from under a train after it screeched to a halt in front of her at Kingsbridge Road station in the Bronx on Monday (local time).
One of the rescuers, Jairo Torres, told the New York Post he didn't think twice about jumping down onto the tracks to help the girl.
"I see the baby and I jump. I don’t think," the 36-year-old said. "It’s about the baby, not me."
The girl's mum said her daughter was unscathed in the incident.
"She's ok, thank God."
In the video, posted to Instagram, onlookers can be heard shouting encouragement to the girl during the rescue.
"Little by little, my love," one person yells.
After helping the girl out, one of the good Samaritans passes her up to bystanders at the station.
According to the New York Post, the father died in the incident.
