A Walmart in Pennsylvania is in the midst of a police investigation after someone released bedbugs into the men's changing room.
On Thursday, a manager at the store found a closed pill bottle with the parasitic insects crawling around inside it. The pill bottle was found inside a boy's jacket which was for sale, reports CNN.
Another employee later found another pill bottle containing dead bed bugs in the men's changing room.
A health and safety employee reported seeing bed bugs crawling around the men's changing room the same day.
"We are fully cooperating with law enforcement on their investigation," a Walmart spokesperson told CNN.
"A third-party pest management service has visited the store and we are working with them to assess next steps."
State police are investigating and looking for those responsible.
Bedbugs are small insects which survive by feeding on the blood of people and animals. According to the New Zealand Ministry of Health website they do not spread disease but cause itchy bites, which can lead to allergic reaction.
They are also very difficult to get rid of. Bedbugs can survive for months without eating and can hide in the cracks of walls, beneath mattresses and inside bedding.
