A British MP has hit back against Twitter trolls who attacked her choice of outfit for Parliament on Monday.
Opposition Labour MP Tracy Brabin was slammed by online trolls after she wore a black outfit revealing her right shoulder during a House of Commons debate.
One Twitter user criticised Brabin for not wearing "appropriate attire" to Parliament.
Brabin was quick to shut down the trolls on Twitter, questioning "who knew people could get so emotional over a shoulder..."
The member for Batley & Spen tweeted: "Sorry I don't have time to reply to all of you commenting on this but I can confirm I'm not.... A slag. Hungover. A tart. About to breastfeed. A slapper. Drunk. Just been banged over a wheelie bin."
The lawmaker's response received widespread support with her tweet gaining more than 115,000 likes.
Brabin's shoulder was revealed as she voiced concerns about the exclusion of certain journalists from a press conference.
The Parliament's website advises MPs wear clothes that "might ordinarily be worn for a fairly formal business transaction".
The former TV soap star was elected MP in 2016 after her predecessor Jo Cox was murdered.
