US police have arrested a man who allegedly stabbed a woman with a syringe that may have contained semen.
Thomas Byron Stemen, 51, was arrested on Friday (US time), a week-and-a-half after a woman was attacked while out grocery shopping in Churchton , Maryland, local police said.
Katie Peters told local media she initially thought she'd been burned with a cigarette butt
"He turned to me and said, 'I know it feels like a bee sting, doesn't it?" she told WBAL-TV.
Video shows the suspect pulling the syringe out of his pocket and jamming it in her rear.
On her way home it began to hurt, and Peters noticed a puncture wound.
"I called my son and said, 'Something's not right, I hope nothing happens. I hope I make it home, I love you.'"
A week later police received an anonymous tip-off which led them to Stemen. They found him carrying syringes full of semen and more in his car.
And they don't think Peters was his only victim.
"What we're doing now is we need to find out, do additional testing, find out what this victim is up against," said Sgt Jacklyn Davis.
