Ghislaine Maxwell, a long time associate of sexual abuser Jeffrey Epstein, has lost a last-minute appeal to stop "embarrassing documents" from being released.
US District Judge Loretta Preska on Thursday ordered the release of documents that Maxwell requested to keep sealed, despite her lawyers making an "extraordinary" request.
Maxwell, a British socialite was arrested and charged with six criminal accounts assisting with Epstein's abuse of young girls. She pleaded not guilty earlier this month,
She is currently answering a number of lawsuits brought by victims of Epstein, and is concerned the releasing of her files would destroy her ability to get a fair trial.
Her lawyer claimed the releasing of her documents would result in "substantial negative media publicity and speculation in an internet world".
The deposition came from a now-settled lawsuit filed by Virginia Giuffre in 2015.
Giuffre alleged she was abused by Epstein and was forced to have sex with Britain's Prince Andrew with Maxwell's assistance. She wants the disclosure of more information from her case.
"He needs to be held accountable," she told CBS's This Morning, "we need to show the world that the rich and the mighty can fall too."
The deposition is scheduled for release on August 3.
