A person who travelled from New Zealand has tested positive for COVID-19 in Malaysia, according to health officials.
They were among five new cases recorded in Malaysia on Monday, three imported and two local transmissions.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the imported cases were two Malaysians and a resident, all of whom were returning from overseas.
They travelled from New Zealand, Indonesia and the United Kingdom, Dr Abdullah said.
The other two cases were community transmission involving the family member of a confirmed case and a foreign worker, according to Malay Mail.
New Zealand currently has no known active cases outside of managed isolation facilities. Overall, there have been 1536 confirmed cases and just 22 deaths.
Malaysia has 8677 confirmed cases and 121 deaths.
The New Zealand Ministry of Health has been contacted for comment.
