A man believed to be murdered has been found alive and well, five years after disappearing.
Ricardas Puisys was last seen at his workplace in Wisbech, England in September 2015. Puisys failed to turn up at work for two days and in November 2015 police launched a murder investigation.
There had been no sign of him until November last year when a Facebook account was set up in his name, BBC reports. Police could not verify if any photos posted were of Puisys, or if the account had been created in Wisbech.
Puisys was presumed dead for almost five years until last month he was found hiding in the woods of Wisbech.
"Following a search of a wooded area in Harecroft Road, Ricardas was eventually found living in undergrowth, very well concealed after having deliberately hidden and having not spoken with anyone for some time", Detective Chief Inspector Rob Hall said.
Police believe Puisys ran away after being the "victim of a crime" and previously being "subject to exploitation".
Initial concerns for Puisys' safety were sparked in August 2015 when reports arose of him being exploited, ITV reports. Shortly before his disappearance, a neighbour mentioned Puisys could have been forced to change addresses against his will.
He is now receiving police support and an investigation into the potential exploitation has started.
