US First Lady Melania Trump has outlined the health precautions taken within the White House after more aides tested positive for COVID-19.
At least 13 members of President Donald Trump's inner circle at the White House are confirmed to have been infected with the virus after both he and Melania tested positive on Friday.
"The health and safety of the [White House] residence staff is of the utmost importance to the First Family," the First Lady said in a statement on Wednesday.
Adopting hospital-grade disinfection policies since March is one of the few precautionary measures taken during this pandemic.
In April, all White House staff were required to wear masks at all times.
"With the recent positive results of the President and First Lady, staff wear full PPE and continue to take all necessary precautions, which include all updated procedures to protect against cross-contamination," the statement added.
"Residence staff in direct contact with the First Family are tested daily, with support staff tested every 48 hours."
Many executive staff are now working from home - including Ivanka Trump, the President's daughter and senior advisor, who has opted to stay away from the White House.
Although she tested negative for COVID-19, Ivanka took the option out of precaution, her spokesperson told The Daily Mail.
Donald Trump left Walter Reed Military Centre and returned to The White House on Tuesday.
After arriving back at the White House, he was filmed whipping off his face mask and stuffing it into his pocket.
"Feeling really good!" he tweeted earlier on Tuesday. "Don't be afraid of COVID. Don't let it dominate your life... I feel better than I did 20 years ago!"
