Fourteen New Zealanders have been detained in Australia for sneaking on to a flight to Melbourne.
The Herald Sun reports the travellers landed in Sydney and managed to slip through domestic security to board a connecting flight into Melbourne - which is not accepting international travellers.
They were discovered when they landed in Melbourne and have been kept in the airport until a flight back to Sydney is available.
The escape comes just hours after the first New Zealnders landed in Sydney following the decision to open Northern Territory and New South Wales so that Kiwis could enter without quarantine.
Earlier on Friday Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said around 230 New Zealanders had entered the country.
Newshub has contacted New Zealand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Australian Border Force for comment.
A spokesperson from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade told Newshub it is aware of media reports, but has not been approached in relation to this matter.
