Investigators in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann are searching a property in Germany, according to local reports.
McCann went missing from an apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal, in May 2007, while her parents dined at the nearby restaurant. She was three years old at the time.
Her disappearance gripped the world and has been back in the headlines this year after authorities identified German Christian Brückner as a suspect.
Police were spotted at a property in Laatzen, near Hanover after receiving a tipoff, with German newspaper Neue Presse reporting the investigation is linked to the McCann case.
The whistleblower alleges there were "very serious crimes" committed in the property, which is only 20 km from Brückner's allotment and hidden cellar, The Sun reported.
It comes after Brückner, a convicted rapist and paedophile, was taken to hospital after an incident in a German court cell.
The 43-year-old's lawyer Friedrich Fulscher claimed Brückner was injured by officials, but the court insisted he had "fallen over".
Police told The Sun they were called to manage the incident and Brückner was taken to hospital and treated for two broken ribs.
