US Election: Donald Trump makes last-ditch blitz to save his presidency

Just like in the 2016 US election, Donald Trump is behind in nearly all polls. But Joe Biden must feel him breathing down his neck as he draws closer.

As the race tightens with just one day to go, tensions between teams Trump and Biden are starting to escalate.

Biden complained his campaign bus was surrounded on a Texas highway by Trump supporters. Those on board claimed they tried to drive their bus off the road. Rallies had to be cancelled for security fears.

"Folks, that's not who we are. we are so much better than this," Biden said.

Trump had a different take on it.

"You know they were protecting his bus yesterday because they are nice. They had hundreds of cars!" he said.

In the last few hours, Trump was greeted by freezing cold winds in Michigan. It's the start of a nationwide blitz to win back the presidency.

While temperatures hovered slightly above zero his welcome was very warm for a campaign still trailing in the polls. Trump won here by a mere 3 percent in 2016.

From the snow in Michigan to the sunshine in Iowa, then on to North Carolina, Team Trump is working overtime. Supporters here refuse to believe the polls, and are turning out in massive numbers.

It's possible, even likely, that we won't know the winner on Wednesday night. But Trump wants an answer on election night.

"We should know the result of the election on November 3, that's the way it has been and that is the way it should be," Trump said.

But there's a problem because there's a massive number of postal ballots that may need to be counted after November 3 and traditionally they favour the Democrats.
