A vegan activist and a butcher aggressively confronted each other inside a Perth shopping centre.
Australian animal rights activist Tash Peterson turned up outside the butcher's store in blood-spattered white clothing.
A video posted on Facebook on Thursday shows the activist holding a pig's head, ranting against animal cruelty.
"Could you shoot him in the head yourself?" Peterson shouted.
"Could you slit his throat yourself? If you eat animal products, you are an animal abuser."
The butcher jumped over the counter and told her to "get out now".
"You f**king idiot - get out."
Peterson continued to rant, disrupting shopping mall customers.
"What is wrong with you - don't you have a life?" The butcher shouted.
"What is wrong with YOU?" Peterson responded. "I have every right to speak up."
"Can I come to your work and do this to you?" The butcher said, leading her out of the shopping mall.
A security staff came out and told Peterson she needed to go.
"I don't want to be standing here holding this innocent being's head. But you have the right to know the truth," Peterson posted on Facebook Thursday.
"Christmas is supposed to be a time about peace, yet you're putting violence on your plate. You're an animal abuser if you're not vegan."
Facebook users were divided.
"Get a life!" One person commented. "You have every right to stand up for what you believe in but don't cause scenes in front of someone's workplace. It's uncalled for. She had every right to react that way."
"Seen it and wouldn't hesitate to smash a steak," another said.
Other people called her "brave" and defended her actions.
"You are a very brave woman. Thank you for doing this. We all need to do this. People don't like to hear the truth. That's the only way they can silence us. We won't be silenced!"
"Such a brave woman," another said. "Go vegan and fight against cruelty."
