Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka is reportedly considering a run for Florida governor in the final days of her father's presidency.
The US President's oldest daughter was previously seen as a moderator to her father's right-wing conservatism but in recent weeks she has publicly pushed back against critics in a more aggressive fashion, in line with Donald Trump's behaviour.
Last week she confirmed she had been deposed in a state investigation into alleged misuse of funds during 2017. She blasted the investigation on Twitter as being a "Democrat-led politically motivated demonstration of vindictiveness and waste of taxpayer dollars".
She also scorned an investigation into her father's taxes as "harassment pure and simple" and "a continued political vendetta".
CNN quoted an unnamed source close to Ivanka as saying she has "gone full MAGA".
Another said she "definitely has political ambitions, no question about it".
"She wants to run for something, but that still needs to be figured out."
Several sources have indicated she is considering a run for Florida governor in the near future, or possibly a seat in Congress in New Jersey - both states where her family have holiday homes.
According to CNN, Ivanka's decision to begin "speaking out more" and stop "sitting back and letting people say what they want and distort facts" comes with her father's approval.
"Of all the children, Trump is focused on her running," the source said. "He sees Ivanka as the heir apparent."
