As Donald Trump continues to contest the results of the US Presidential election, Twitter has updated its labeling policy to make it clear who the winner was.
The social media site is now adding tags to some of Trump's tweets informing readers Joe Biden did in fact come out ahead in the November election, despite what the outgoing President claims.
"Election officials have certified Joe Biden as the winner of the US Presidential election," the tag reads.
The Electoral College confirmed Biden's victory last Monday (US time), giving the president-elect 306 electoral votes compared to Trump's 232.
The Electoral College vote came after a number of failed legal challenges by the Trump campaign, meaning he has few options left at his disposal before he must leave the White House on January 20 when his term ends.
Trump has yet to officially concede the election and continues to claim the process was plagued with voter fraud, despite offering no proof to back up his comments.
Trump's former Attorney General Wiliam Barr - who resigned last week - even admitted earlier this month the US Justice Department had uncovered no evidence of voter fraud that could change the outcome of the election.
Twitter told Variety it updated its labelling on Trump's tweets "to reflect the latest information".
Other tweets by Trump have the tag "This claim about election fraud is disputed" attached to them. Readers who click on the labels are taken to a page showing links to a number of news articles with more information on the subjects.
The latest tag updated comes after Twitter briefly prevented users from liking or replying to a series of tweets by Trump on December 12 referring to the election results. Twitter soon allowed interaction with the tweets again, however, "in line with [its] civic integrity policy".
