There's no sign a COVID-19 outbreak in Victoria is slowing down, with the state's health department announcing another three previously unreported community cases overnight.
Victoria's Department of Health on Tuesday morning revealed there were nine new cases in the community - though six of those were already known about on Monday.
Victoria's community cluster has now swollen to 54 cases, and there are now more than 320 COVID-19 exposure sites across the state.
Another 42,699 coronavirus tests were completed on Monday.
Federal Aged Care Services Minister Richard Colbeck says none of the three new cases are linked to aged care facilities, which is a relief after two days in which two workers, a resident and the son of a worker tested positive.
On Monday, Victoria's Acting Premier James Merlino warned the outbreak "may well get worse before it gets better".
"In the past 24 hours we identified many more points of concern," he told reporters at a press conference from Melbourne.
"In addition to the very worrying cases in private aged care, we are very concerned about the number of other high-risk exposure sites. We are seeing a small number of cases infecting a large number of contacts.
"There is no doubt, the situation is incredibly serious. The next few days remain critical."
More to come.
