Australian health officials have raised concern that an entire maternity ward may have been exposed to Covid-19 after a positive case visited a doctor on the ward.
A gynecologist at the Wollongong Private Hospital saw a Covid-19 positive patient on Friday, before working around the rest of the ward, 7News reported.
The patient was unaware they were positive at the time.
A message has been sent to all other patients and workers informing them of the potential infection spread.
7News says testing and a deep clean has begun throughout the ward.
The scare comes after four cases were reported in New South Wales (NSW) on Sunday.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said mask wearing requirements will ramp up following the most recent outbreak.
7News reports mask wearing on public transport has been extended to wider NSW to include Wollongong and Shellharbour council areas, from previously only being the greater Sydney area.
