A wild elephant in Thailand has been captured searching for food in a local's kitchen after crashing through the wall.
Chalermkiatpattana village resident Ratchadawan Puengprasoppon told The Guardian she was awoken in the early hours of Saturday morning by banging noises in her kitchen.
Further inspection revealed a male elephant named Boonchuay was rummaging through the cupboards with its nose and appeared to be trying to find something to eat.
Ratchadawan, unsure what to do, recorded the encounter on her phone.
Boonchuay lives in Thailand’s Kaeng Krachan national park and is occasionally found visiting the village.
"They come to visit quite often," the park's superintendent Itthipon Thaimonkol told The Guardian. "They always come when there is the local market because they can smell food."
