A Dunkin' Donuts customer in the US has surprised a drive-thru worker with an entirely furnished home after learning she had recently been evicted.
Suzanne Burke, from Ohio, met Ebony Johnson - who is a single mum with three kids - three years ago while she was buying coffee at the local Dunkin' drive-thru.
Burke and Johnson became close over the three years, chatting almost every morning while Burke picked up her coffee.
When Burke noticed her normal drive-thru employee was not at work for a few weeks, she began to worry.
She eventually learned Johnson and her children were evicted from their home and sprung into action.
Incredibly, Burke found her drive-thru worker a new place to live and even filled the house with furniture.
"I go [to Dunkin'] every morning," Burke told local news station WCPO. "Ebony has worked the drive-thru for three years and really has provided amazing customer service.
"When she experienced this hardship, I just wanted to see if I could help her improve her life and the life for her kids. I wanted to make sure that they had stable housing so that she could continue to provide the excellent service she does at Dunkin'."
When the surprise was revealed to Johnson on Friday, she broke down in tears as she walked through her new home for the first time.
"I'm just so thankful we're back in our home," she said. "The Lord really looked out for me because I kept praying and saying, 'Could I be at home before Christmas?'"
Johnson was overcome with emotion as she revealed she had never had a fully furnished house before.
"Oh my God, it was so amazing, I just burst out crying," Johnson told TODAY. "I've never had a fully furnished house. I never had help like this."
Burke said the moment the surprise was revealed was so exciting and left everyone in tears.
"I've got three kids, and I can't imagine not having a home to go to and then having to get up, get the kids to school, and show up at work with a positive, happy attitude? I've been in awe of her," Burke told TODAY.
