Two men have been dramatically saved live on Australian television as flooding hits eastern areas of the country.
They were found clinging for their lives onto a power pole in the raging torrent flooding the town of Lismore, in northern New South Wales.
A lifeboat of volunteers arrived and pulled the pair to safety
7News Sydney reporter Bill Hogan was reporting live in a lifeboat nearby when it all unfolded.
"This is the tricky situation you have to deal with when people are taking matters into their own hands," he says.
So far seven people have been killed in the Queensland floods - the worst floods since 1840.
The storm is now sitting over New South Wales, where the rescue took place.
